Our Mission
FunShine is a student-founded brand creating sensory-friendly, playful sunscreen solutions that make sun protection easy and stress-free for kids and families. We combine safety, comfort, and toy-like design to turn sunscreen time into a fun, confidence-building part of every sunny day.
Meet Our Team
We’re a team of high school seniors who came together to create FunShine through our Honors Incubator course during our junior year. What began with a problem we each witnessed as camp counselors, lifeguards, and swim instructors grew into a year-long journey of developing FunShine and bringing our vision to life. Through our experiences working with children, we saw firsthand the challenges families face with sun protection and were inspired to create a solution that makes it easier, more enjoyable, and less stressful for kids and parents.

Our Journey to Incubator Nationals
Our FunShine journey began in our Honors Incubator classroom, where we spent the year developing our business, refining our product, and preparing to pitch. At the end of the year, we presented FunShine at Deerfield High School’s Pitch Night, where our hard work earned us 1st Place and the opportunity to advance to Incubator EDU’s national competition.
After advancing through multiple rounds of selection, we were honored to place 6th nationally out of 70 teams, earning an invitation to the Incubator EDU National Summit. At the Summit, we had the opportunity to share FunShine with business professionals, connect with fellow student entrepreneurs, and learn from leaders in the business community. We are incredibly proud of how far we took FunShine and deeply grateful for the experiences, connections, and opportunities this journey gave us.
